Triumph Motorcycles unveiled the Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400X duo in July 2023. After a week, the company announced the prices for the Triumph Speed 400 and said that the prices for the Triumph Scrambler 400X will be announced at a later date.

Now the company is getting ready to launch the bike in the Indian market very soon. Ahead of its launch, let’s take a look at the top five things you need to know about the Triumph Scrambler 400X.

1. Triumph Scrambler 400X: Design
The Triumph Scrambler 400 X will be built at Bajaj’s Chakan-2 plant for both domestic sales and export purposes. In terms of design, the Scrambler 400X looks very similar to the Speed 400 but here it gets a slightly rugged look. The bike gets a sculpted fuel tank with 13 litres of fuel tank capacity and it gets traditional Triumph black powder-coated engine casings with gold anodised front forks.

It gets round LED headlamps with DRLs and the bike uses the same main frame but the cycle parts have been changed. The Triumph Scrambler 400X gets green/white, red/black and black/silver colour options and Triumph is offering 25 additional optional accessories.

2. Triumph Scrambler 400X: Features
Talking about the features, the Scrambler 400X gets all LED lighting (headlights, indicators, taillights), a semi-digital instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, dual-channel ABS, torque-assist clutch, USB-C charging port and more.

3. Triumph Scrambler 400X: Frame and Engine
The Triumph Scrambler 400X is built on a new frame and a bolt-on rear subframe with a cast-aluminium swing arm and will be powered by a newly developed 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which produces 40hp of power at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. This brand-new engine has been christened the TR-series and the same engine also does the job in the Triumph Speed 400.

4. Triumph Scrambler 400X: Suspension, Braking, alloys and weight
Suspension duties are taken care of by 43mm upside-down big-piston forks at the front and a gas-charged mono-shock unit at the rear with pre-load adjustment. It gets a four-piston radial front brake with a 320mm front disc and 230mm rear disc. The Scrambler 400 X gets a 19-inch alloy wheel at the front and a 17-inch at the rear wrapped up in MRF Zapper Kurve rubber. The bike has a seat height of 835mm and weighs in at 179kg.
5. Triumph Scrambler 400X: Expected price and rivals
The Triumph Speed is priced at Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom). Both Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are based on the same underpinnings and share multiple parts and features.
